“Alluring Visions,” At The Moraga Art Gallery’s Holiday Art Show December 1 – January 30

Front and center at the Moraga Art Gallery’s gift-rich holiday show, “Alluring Visions,” is a display of Wenda Pyman’s   landscape photographs that capture nature’s miraculous details in both striking color and black-and-white, influenced by such masters as Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunningham, Edward Weston and others of the f64 Club.
The show also includes a collection of visually compelling paintings of the world around us by two renowned guest artists: Charles White and Geoff Meredith. White, whose luminous work adorns gallery walls, book covers, greeting cards, calendars, puzzles and plates, is one of America’s most prolific and popular oil painters.  Meredith is a master of  representational abstractions, devoted to 21st century reinterpretations of the “Bay Area’s Figurative Movement” of the 1950’s and 60’s.
The show also contains paintings, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, glassware, etchings, woodwork, photographs, prints, and much more by the gallery’s core of members.  A special boutique offers a large selection of original, hand-made gifts –from small paintings to coasters, cards, and pizza cutters.
Holiday Hours:  Ordinarily, the gallery, located at 432 Center Street in Moraga’s  Rheem Shopping Center, is open Wednesday through Sunday from 12 noon to 5:00 pm.  From December 1st to 24th the gallery’s hours are 10:00 am to 6:00 pm daily.
On Saturday, December 4th, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, the art lovers of all ages are invited to a free holiday reception to view the art, meet the artists and enjoy snacks and live music provided by the popular harp virtuoso, Wendy Tamis.
