The Contra Costa Chapter of The Compassionate Friends is hosting an event to help local families coping with the loss of a child or other loved one during the holidays. A potluck dinner on Thursday, December 5th, 6:00-9:00pm will feature award-winning speaker Linda Shively, who turned the tragic death of her three-year-old daughter into a mission to help other families deal with such catastrophic losses, the focus of the local organization that meets monthly on each fourth Tuesday to support grieving families.

The event, nondenominational, free and open the public, will be held in the Mullens Common Building of John Vianney Church, 1650 Ygnacio Valley Road in Walnut Creek.
