Hometown native Wayne Coy has awakened and entertained KKIQ/KKDV radio listeners for almost a decade after working all around the country in such magical places as Las Vegas, Tucson, Mobile, Richmond, Omaha, Norfolk and of course…Keokuk.
This Pacific High – San Leandro (now Nordstom’s Rack) alum claims he was attracted to a career in radio mostly because of the free T-Shirts and Pizza and the early hours that allow him to pursue his dream of selling churros on the BART ramp at the Coliseum. Wayne likes to spend time with the most important people in his life… his wife Nancy, six kids, four grandkids, three dogs, and the non-smiling lady making hot dogs at Casper’s.
You may or may not be surprised to learn that Wayne’s guilty pleasures include bargaining at garage sales, test driving cars that he has no intention of buying and watching episodes of Family Guy in Spanish. Wayne’s true passions are Oakland A’s baseball, Raiders football, Warriors basketball, collecting Beatles memorabilia and memorizing the drive through menu at fast food establishments (hey Chick Fil-A, that was not even a challenge!)
In addition to hosting “Hometown Mornings,” Wayne is an accomplished stand-up comedian, concert promoter, published author, obstetrician, gardener and synchronized swimmer.
